At 1502 Candle Co., sustainability is what we were founded on back in 2014 when Caroline poured the first candles in recycled and repurposed containers. Environmental responsibility and sustainability are our roots and they lead all of our decision making from ingredients and supplies to giving back to the community.

We source supplies that are recycled and recyclable, biodegradable and made in the US. We use petroleum-free soy wax which is derived from American-grown soybeans, and is renewable and biodegradable. Our fragrances are non-toxic and are blends of high-quality, phthalate-free essential and fragrance oils.
Our candles are poured into containers that are reusable, recyclable and, most importantly, REFILLABLE! Our labels were chosen to be easily removed and are printed on FSC-certified and acid-free paper with no laminate so they can be recycled or biodegrade.

All of our shipping materials are reusable, recyclable and biodegradable and prioritize materials with post-consumer waste. We don’t ever buy plastic shipping materials -  if you find some, it’s because we’re reusing it!
