WORKSHOP WAIVER OF LIABILITY

1502 CANDLE CO. WORKSHOP WAIVER OF LIABILITY

ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY

By participating in a candle-making workshop conducted by 1502 Candle Co., I, the participant (or parent/guardian of minor participant), acknowledge, understand, and agree to the following:

1. ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RISKS

I understand that candle-making activities involve inherent risks including, but not limited to:

  • Burns from hot wax, flames, and heated equipment

  • Cuts from tools and glass containers

  • Allergic reactions to fragrances, dyes, or other materials

  • Slips, falls, and other accidents

  • Fire hazards and smoke inhalation

  • Chemical exposure from essential oils and fragrance materials

  • Property damage to personal belongings

2. VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION

By participating in this workshop, I acknowledge full knowledge of the risks involved and voluntarily choose to participate. I understand that 1502 Candle Co. has made no warranties or representations about the safety of the activities.

3. WAIVER AND RELEASE

I, for myself, my heirs, personal representatives, and assigns, hereby RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE, and COVENANT NOT TO SUE 1502 Candle Co., its owners, employees, instructors, agents, volunteers, and representatives from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me or damage to any property belonging to me, whether caused by the negligence of 1502 Candle Co. or otherwise, while participating in the workshop or while on the premises.

4. INDEMNIFICATION

I agree to INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS 1502 Candle Co., its owners, employees, instructors, agents, volunteers, and representatives from any and all claims, actions, suits, procedures, costs, expenses, damages, and liabilities, including attorney's fees, brought as a result of my participation in the workshop.

5. MEDICAL CONDITIONS AND FITNESS

I represent that I am physically and mentally capable of participating in the workshop activities. I have no medical conditions that would prevent safe participation or increase the likelihood of injury. If I have any medical conditions, allergies, or take medications that could affect my participation, I have disclosed them to 1502 Candle Co. prior to the workshop.

6. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

I agree to follow all safety instructions provided by 1502 Candle Co. instructors and will immediately notify instructors of any unsafe conditions or injuries. I understand that failure to follow safety instructions may result in removal from the workshop without refund.

7. ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION

If alcohol is provided or permitted during the workshop, I acknowledge that I am at least 21 years of age and will consume alcohol responsibly at my own risk. I understand the increased risks associated with combining alcohol consumption with workshop activities involving hot materials and tools.

8. PHOTOGRAPHY AND MEDIA RELEASE

By participating in this workshop, I grant 1502 Candle Co. the right to photograph, film, or otherwise record my participation and to use such images for promotional, marketing, social media, or other business purposes without compensation to me.

9. PERSONAL PROPERTY

I understand that 1502 Candle Co. is not responsible for any theft, damage, or loss of personal property during the workshop.

10. MINORS (Under 18 years of age)

  • Parent/guardian assumes all responsibility for minor's participation and agrees to all terms herein

11. CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

By participating in this workshop, I acknowledge understanding and agreement to 1502 Candle Co.'s cancellation and refund policies as communicated at time of registration.

12. SEVERABILITY

If any portion of this agreement is held invalid or unenforceable, the remainder shall continue in full legal force and effect.

13. GOVERNING LAW

This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of California.

14. ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF UNDERSTANDING

By participating in this workshop, I acknowledge that I have read this waiver of liability and fully understand its terms. I understand that I am giving up substantial rights, including my right to sue. My participation constitutes agreement to be bound by this complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.
